When the vision for Puritan Publishing first took shape, one of the earliest signs that this was meant to be was something surprisingly simple: a national search revealed that the name Puritan Publishing and its matching domain were available. What?! The name Puritan Publishing was available? How was that even possible in an era where every recognizable name is parked or taken? That simple thing was a first blush of encouragement.
From Dungeons to Glory: A Clear Compass for Dark Seasons
When you are struggling, and feel like you are trapped in an emotional dungeon, finding the right book should not feel like a heavy research project. Most historical catalogs are vast and difficult to navigate unless you already know the specific title you need. We wanted to take a completely different approach.
Our mission at Puritan Publishing is to tackle modern mental and emotional health head on—from young adults to older generations—by giving readers an intuitive map to navigate their way out of the dungeon and find the exact book they need, right when they need it most.
We organized our entire catalog around our flagship series framework, From Dungeons to Glory. With Aeryn Frusher’s artistic creativity, we were able to combine the progression of the escape from the dungeon with the changes of the seasons. (You have felt that dungeon before, have you not?)
- Winter (Hardship & Trial): For those currently in the thick of the fight, trapped in deep difficulty, pain, or confusion. (Dungeon bars closed.)
- Spring (Breaking Free): For the first signs of light, where hope begins to return and momentum starts to build. (Dungeon bars beginning to open.)
- Summer (Liberation & Growth): For periods of active recovery, spiritual growth, and walking in newfound freedom. (Dungeon bars flung open.)
- Fall (Mature Vitality): For seasoned reflection, deep stability, and building long term spiritual resilience. (Fully exited the dungeon, bars closed behind.)
- All Seasons (Foundational Truths): Evergreen works that provide strength no matter where you find yourself.
Two Ways to Read & Where We Are Starting
Our books are not intended for scholarly use or research. They are devotional. To ensure these works serve every reader on a practical, personal level, our catalog is designed around two distinct formats:
- Original Language (Black Covers): Preserving the classic, historical phrasing for purists and traditional readers. (All Seasons titles feature Dark Grey covers.)
- Modernized Language (White Covers): Updated sentence structures and modern syntax—without altering the underlying theology—designed for everyday readers, young adults, and anyone seeking immediate clarity. (All Seasons titles feature Light Grey covers.)
We officially launch on July 31st with our Original Language editions. The true heartbeat of our business will be our modernized editions, which are actively in development and will roll out as our catalog grows.
